GreenPay puts a price on Valuable Waste
This winning, Most Valuable Prototype, initiated by a group of ambitious CapGemini colleagues/employees calling themselves R3, is taking shape nicely! Its their dream to position “GreenPay” as a label for sustainable entrepreneurship by introducing a financial incentive for producers, retailers and consumers alike. Re-use of the complete product, individual components and at the end of the product life-cycle the raw materials, is the revenue GreenPay could introduce in our natural and financial ecosystem.
Karel Lammers, R3: “Locking in the return of the product at the moment of purchase, will transform the current product lifecycle from linear to circular.”
Social Impact through LocalMotion
An exceptional example of cooperation, is the outcome of an initiative called “LocalMotion”. A small group of ABN AMRO colleagues have teamed up with the Lung Foundation Netherlands and together they have taken up the challenge to create a platform that enables volunteers to realise good causes in their neighbourhood.
The first pilot project using the LocalMotion platform is to create a network of volunteers that are eager to take local action to create smoke-free playgrounds.
Turning all areas where children reside into smoke-free areas is part of the movement ‘towards to a Smoke-free Generation’ (“op weg naar een Rookvrije Generatie”), an initiative of the Dutch alliance for a smoke-free society founded by the Heart Foundation, the Dutch Cancer Society and the Lung Foundation Netherlands.
Together with an increasing number of organisations and individuals the Smoke-free Generation collaborates towards a society where children are protected from tobacco smoke and the temptation to start smoking.
One of the ABN AMRO teams with an innovative idea for mortgages, did a Proof of Concept to see if smart contracts could offer a quick back-end technological solution. They found that using smart contracts technology offered them out-of-the box auditability, fraud prevention and digital signatures.
Hackers help health
Comparable to last year, the teams in the Health category worked hard to find helpful data analyses approaches to interpret cancer data. Their step to create no less than three academic papers after the Beyond Banking Days 2018, will have a lot of positive and lasting impact on the health professionals concerned with treating (lung)cancer!
Beyond Banking Days 2019
Although some of the Beyond Banking ideas are still in full development, with the new year fast approaching, were planning the 2019 edition! The content is far from finalised, but we can tell you that it will be awesome once again.
